Tools
There are many types of tools for measuring, tracking, and analyzing physiologic data. The increase in smartphones has put computing power in many places with many types of sensors available. This page is devoted to tools and is roughly into hardware and software. One might consider measurement scales to be a tool as well, however I've arbitrarily put them on a separate page along with protocols which define standard procedures for how meausres and tools are applied. Due to overlap, some of that information appears here, especially when it comes to software implementations of measures.
Hardware
- EEG (electroencephalogram) measures brainwave activity. Important parts include the electrodes that (generally) go on the scalp, the amplifier, and the recording system.
- EMG (electromyography)
- EDA (electrodermal activity)
Softare
- Here I'm putting in a plug for my own version of the memory span test that measures working memory capacity.
